Dr. Jason Korkus is a Chicago native who grew up in New Buffalo, MI. He is the youngest of three children and takes pride in his ability to have become a bilingual Spanish speaking professional. Dr. Korkus obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology degree with a minor in Neuroscience from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. He currently operates several dental practices throughout Chicago and the Chicagoland area.
Since the inception of the practices, Dr. Korkus has demonstrated his commitment to the health of the communities he serves by providing dental education in Head Start Programs. He believes in providing the most caring, professional dental services for everyone. Dr. Korkus is a standing member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Illinois Dental Association (IDS), and the Chicago Dental Society (CDS).
Dr. Charlene Uy was raised in Berwyn, IL and moved to Orland Park upon starting high school. She received her dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and subsequently joined Sonrisa Family Dental. Dr. Uy’s passion for dentistry, and her patients overall health and wellness, with emphasis on the importance of proper brushing, flossing and practicing a healthy lifestyle, cultivated from her working as a dental hygienist for 4 years. She is currently an active member of several dental organizations including: American Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Dr. Uy has been living in Chicago for 15 years and LOVES everything the city has to offer – the beautiful skyline, diversity, sports, awesome food scene, art and festivals all year around! During her free time, Dr. Uy likes to spend time with her husband, family, and friends, attending concerts, trying out different restaurants, cooking, DIY projects and traveling.
Dr. Neil Parikh was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He attended Loyola University Chicago graduating Magna Cum Laude. Thereafter, he attended the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. During his time in dental school, he actively participated in the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) promoting advocacy in oral health education. As a lifelong Chicago native, he’s committed to serving those in the community. Dr. Parikh enjoys all facets of dentistry and continually keeping up with the advancements in dentistry. Dr. Parikh is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society.
The most rewarding aspect of dentistry for Dr. Parikh is viewing the positive impact a healthy and attractive smile can have on a person's life. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, basketball, watching Chicago sports, and living in the greatest city in the world.
Dr. Ankur Shah was born in Chicago, and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2008. He went on to complete a general practice residency at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, where he gained extensive training in the treatment of complex dental conditions.
Dr. Shah finds it truly rewarding to educate his patients on the benefits of good oral health, and finds that teaching the importance of good hygiene to parents is the most important step in preventing oral disease in children. Dr. Shah continues to further his education and techniques through continuing education seminars and courses. He is currently an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling, tennis, golf, and spending time with his family. He currently resides in downtown Chicago with his wife and son, and loves exploring everything the city has to offer.
Dr. Steve Lee comes all the way to Sonrisa Family Dental by way of San Diego, California where he grew up. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with his Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Dr. Lee is an active member of the American Dental Association. He loves exploring the city of Chicago with his family and finding new and fun activities they can all participate in! Dr. Lee is an avid golfer and loves the time he gets to spend with his family.
Dr. Shelly Hingle grew up in Indiana but is proud to call Chicago her home! She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and is an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, American Dental Society, and the Illinois State Dental Society. Dr. Hingle believes that patient comfort and knowledge are of the highest priority and discusses any fears with patients while insuring they are fully knowledgeable about their complete oral health. She maintains the highest standards of care all while advocating “healthy beautiful smiles” by creating a comfortable and soothing environment for patients.
Dr. Hingle loves traveling and spending time with her family.
Dr. Krupa was born in Poland, but raised in the Chicago area. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and doctoral DMD degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He currently practices dentistry in Blue Island and Chicago.
He speaks English, Polish and a little Spanish.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and Academy of General Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Krupa enjoys traveling and sampling various cuisines throughout the Chicago area.
Dr. Kamal earned both her Bachelor's degree in Biology and her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Kamal believes that prevention of dental disease and patient education should be a primary discussion at every routine dental visit. She strives to ease patients fears of the dentist through open patient communication and a thorough explanation of procedures. Dr. Kamal welcomes the entire family and especially loves to treat children so she can help parents and young ones learn how to properly care for their teeth. She has even spent time conducting dental screenings on students at local grade schools and looks forward to participating in other such local outreach programs. Dr. Kamal is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the American Dental Association (ADA). She is constantly improving her dental knowledge base and technique by attending continuing education classes throughout the year.
Dr. Kamal grew up in the southwest suburb of Tinley Park and now resides in Lisle with her husband, and 2 children. She spends her spare time exploring Chicago and local parks with her family, loves cooking and trying new restaurants.
She sees patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Dr. Cupic was born in Belgrade, Serbia and graduated from the University of Belgrade Dental School. Shortly after her moved to Chicago to join his father. He loved Chicago from the start because of its ethnic diversity and cultural venues. He used to have two of his own offices located on the North Side of Chicago and Skokie, however in 2015 he sold his practice. Practicing dentistry is his passion and love second to his family. After many years of being in his own practice he learned that patients like to be treated with respect and care; fully informing patients about procedures they are facing keep them coming back. Dr. Cupic is experienced in all aspects of prosthodontics, like crowns, bridges laminated veneers and has been doing the non-surgical part of implants for over 25 years, as well as, root canals and teeth whitening. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Chicago Dental Society (CDS), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Dr. Cupic’s interests outside of his family and dentistry are mostly sports related activities such as soccer and tennis.
Dr. Katerina M. Rachkova graduated from the Medical Academy School of Dentistry and completed an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry in her native country, Bulgaria.
Dedicated to superior dental ethics and professionalism after 12 years of practicing dentistry in Bulgaria, Dr. Rachkova moved to Chicago, IL where she graduated from the International Collected of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. She is a recipient of the Golden Scaler Award for outstanding performance in clinical periodontics.
A people driven specialist, with over 15 years of experience as a general dentist including pediatric proficiency, posterior root canals, and surgical extractions, Dr. Rachkova facilitates a high level of patient satisfaction.

Dr. Carla Delafuente attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she double majored in Biology and Spanish. She received her Degree in Dental Surgery in 2007 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Throughout her dental school career, she volunteered to travel and serve indigent populations in Mexico and Guatemala. Dr. Delafuente also served as president to both the Hispanic Student Dental Association and American Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Delafuente excelled academically in dental school and served as a tutor and mentor to other dental students.
Dr. Delafuente is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. Her passion for dentistry and dedication to her patients is evident through her constant search for innovative practice techniques through continuing education courses.
When Dr. Delafuente is not practicing dentistry, she spends most of her time with her husband and young daughter. She and her husband enjoy dining out, traveling, cooking, watching movies and spending time with their family and friends. Dr. Delafuente and her husband plan to continue traveling to underserved regions of the world and continue helping those in need.
Dr. Albert was born in New York, and spent his childhood in the sunny weather of Lagos, Nigeria. He later moved to Chicago, IL to pursue an education in the sciences. He attained his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. While at the University of Illinois it became clear that Dr. Albert excelled in Art and Science. Dentistry was the perfect fit.
Dr. Albert went on to attain his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Albert maintains active memberships in The American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society. He takes pride in being a conscientious provider that is gentle, attentive and relishes the confidence a beautiful smile can give a person. Dr. Albert is proficient in all disciplines of Dentistry and continually remains informed with the newest advancements in Dentistry.
If Dr. Albert isn’t practicing Dentistry, he’s usually with his three adorable and energetic kids and family. He also enjoys reading, traveling, playing pool, ping pong, video games and classical music.
Dr. Neems was born in Chicago and proud to say that he has lived here his entire life, except for four years in College when he attended The University of Michigan. Go Blue!! Upon graduation he went on to attend The University of Illinois College of Dentistry, graduating in 1984, and is delighted to have spent the past 33 years building beautiful smiles! He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society.
Dr. Neems loves Chicago! His family is here and his wonderful patients whom he considers an extension of his family insuring that know their care is his primary concern. He is the proud father to 2 amazing children - Becky, a 24 year old journalism major who now works in digital marketing in Chicago; and his son Tommy who is special needs and lives in Wisconsin. His wife, Audrey, writes television commercials and has a beautiful "smile"!
In his free time Dr. Neems enjoys bicycling, hiking, swimming, music (he plays the guitar), singing (although he apologizes now if you hear him singing in the office), and a good book. He is extremely pleased to be a part of Sonrisa and helping the dental needs of the entire community!
Dr. Amitoj Singh Mehta completed his dental education in India, and then attended University of Illinois at Chicago for his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He also completed his orthodontic residency at UIC, obtaining a specialty license in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Dr. Mehta enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys traveling, playing cricket and watching basketball.
Dr. Minghui Tang grew up and completed his dental education in China. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Jilin University, Changchun, China. He then went to Japan to complete his PhD in Oral Biochemistry from Hokkaido University. While in China, Dr. Tang practiced as an endodontist.
He then came to the United States and completed an advanced education in General Dentistry at the University of Rochester.He is married and has one daughter. Dr. Tang enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys traveling and watching sports.
Dr. Tang has over 12 years of experience as a dentist and speaks Chinese and Japanese.
